After 11 years on reddit, and seeing it completely lose its identity it was founded on, I am stoked to be a part of this and learn as I go about this improved alternative. I believe this is going to change social media, as the giants collapse on themselves.

    Hey yo!

Yeah end of an era for me as well, started using rif 10.5 years ago…oh well, all good things must come to an end.

Time to build the next great one!

How dope would it be if they made a rif for lemmy? I used rif for like 12 years.

I heard Boost is working on a Lemmy app, which is great - but I liked RIF too.

If that doesn’t happen prior to MOASS I will track down the team and get them to build one afterwards (and backpay them for all my years with rif lol).

Yeah pretty wild to realize how much I used it when I went to delete it. So long…old friend 🥲

For sure I feel like my thumb is still looking for it every other time I close an app and am looking for something else to do!

For whatever reason, i started on baconreader and never felt compelled to switch. Currently using connect for Android, but im definitely not married to it off boost has something good in the works!

Yea, I am still a little hesitant to let it go completely, but I am thinking i will soon since i waste way too much time on it anyway

    Heyoooooo!

So glad you’re here! Agreed that Reddit has lost its way as a platform. I’m very excited to see how Lemmy develops! There were so many tech savvy people on Reddit I don’t doubt it comes on leaps and bounds in the coming months.

Thanks! I really hope this takes over, but it will take time and i am okay with that being slow and having a period where it is still small and organic as reddit when i first joined!
