Hey all! I nuked my reddit account (different username) a few weeks back and haven’t bothered to create a new one. Have been strapped to the rocket since jan’21, been through the migrations, etc. I have little to no idea what this Lemmy thing is yet but I see some familiar faces here so I look forward to discuss and learn with/from you! I know very little so I hope to contribute with good vibes. (I help god dammit!)

Lemmy is a lot like reddit - but open source and has transparent moderation. No ads, either.
So far the android lemmy app I’ve found is massively better than the garbage reddit app.

I’m using Connect. It was the highest-rated one, and so far I’m quite happy with it. Very comparable to ‘rif is fun’ before reddit went and fucked everything. Haven’t tried any of the other apps yet though.

Haven’t tried any mobile apps yet. “Boost” will be available soon. Apparently it was quite popular for reddit before the purge. I had no idea 3rd party reddit apps existed so I’ve endure the absolute shite that is the official reddit app…

I too am a refugee! I couldn’t stand the censorship. I think it was Gary Gensler being censored that was my final straw… he’s a public official… if he’s saying Book is the way then we should at least be able to talk about that.
