I really like the xiaomi redmi line. I bought the 9S in 2022, when it was already considered a kinda of an old model, and it still rocks.

Huawei makes excelent phones, but that google service blocking stuff really gets in the way, specially if you need to use banking apps.

I like FlorisBoard, but for some reason I cannot make the chinese input to work. Typing in 拼音 just doesn’t give any results. Maybe I’m just setting it up wrong tho

Yeah, even in the so called “progressive” communities. A great example (well, for me at least) is the /r/brasil subreddit. While technically you have a majority of left-leaning people there, often you have to engage to the most brain dead discussions and toxicity, specially when it relates to the Ukraine war and China. I can’t count how many times I’ve been called a tankie or something because I pointed out things are not simple as black and white.

NewPipe doesn’t support google login like revanced, so you have to import into the app your subscriptions. It has fewer features than revanced too, but I think the app is more optimized and has a cleaner UI. I still prefer revanced, but it’s definitely worth it to try it out.

K-9 on Android, Thunderbird on desktop. I love both of them, but K-9 has some weird problem that background sync appear to be not working.

You mean Thunder? I think you are having some weird bug, because I’m logged there and have an account on lemmy.world. Jerboa recently was having problems with lemmy.world because of the server’s version, but that has already been sorted it out.

I’m currently using Thunder (it is open source, https://github.com/hjiangsu/thunder) and it’s pretty nice. I tried Jerboa before but I kept getting way too many request errors (probably because I was using with the lemmy.world instance tho)
