I made his lamb shank recipe a couple years ago and it was incredibly flavorful. About as subtle as a brick to the head, but still insanely delicious.

I broke like a 15 year streak of not giving Tom Cruise any money to watch the last one, and boy did that movie fucking suck. Given the choice of finding out the ending and never thinking about that shitty movie again I’m going to pick the latter.
If you buy this property you’re going to be sitting there waiting for the day they send you a letter to tell you they’re expanding their mine onto your property.
That’s a level of uncertainty that I would not be comfortable with for my home. If it’s “recreation” property, like hunting land, then maybe I would feel differently.
I have a homeassistant instance connected to a no-name Z-wave thermostat. It’s been flawless for almost 10 years.
Well, no shit. Who actually expected the Israelis to stop killing people?
Fascism. That’s what’s going on.
The first I heard of Trump’s memecoin was a headline declaring it was worth $25 Billion. I’m a pretty online person, so I tend to hear about these things pretty quickly. The article said it was worth $9 billion in 12 hours.
$9 billion is an unimaginable amount of money for any number of people to decide to “invest” in under 12 hours. The only way I can explain that happening is if many, very wealthy people, had been notified about the coin going up for sale ahead of time and wanted to curry favor with Trump.
What a fucking embarrassment this country is.
I interviewed a bunch of years ago with a company called “xmode social” (I was in desperate need of a job. I fortunately did not get that one.) They had a framework that they paid app publishers in to include in their apps. That framework collected your location data and sent it to xmode who sold that data. That was their entire business AFAIK.
There don’t need to be any shared features for companies to include shit like that in their apps. They just need a way to make the line go up.
This thread is full of people comparing OPs hypothetical about 10 years from now with last year’s capability.
Will AI progress that fast? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It probably won’t get that good, but it doesn’t matter. If it gets as good as your average junior that’s going to mean something like 100% increase in productivity, which means 50% as many jobs and that’s going to be a BIG FUCKING DEAL.
Especially when it’s going to be replacing a lot of other types of office workers. What kind of job is your average software dev going to transition to? Tech support? Not anymore. UI Designer? LOL. Manager? And who are you going to be managing?
If the US doesn’t hit 15-20% unemployment in the next 10 years I’ll eat my hat. I’ll be eating it either way because I’ll be starving to death.
People who were 10 when Self Esteem came out probably think that, yeah.
I’m not sure what your point is. Union leaders are elected by union members to represent them as… a union. Of course press releases are written by the leaders. They’re the leaders. That’s part of the job. The fact that not everyone in the union agrees with the path the leaders have decided to take is neither surprising nor an invalidation of their leadership.
I started watching Scavengers Reign recently on a suggestion from a friend. I normally don’t go for animated shows, but this one is really enjoyable for me. Calm & explorative.
The subject then engaged with local law enforcement and is now deceased
It makes it sound like the cops wouldn’t have done anything if the guy hadn’t brought the fight to them.
Trump: Ok, how about Ukraine declares unconditional surrender and Zelensky is hung in Red Square.
Putin: No, not got good enough.
Biden left the three people Trump wanted to pardon on the list so he could be the good guy for all the Nazis out there. It’s a Christmas gift in the spirit of bipartisanship
The ones that support HomeKit do record to the cloud, but it’s at least encrypted. There’s failure points, so it’s not a fool-proof system, but it’s considerably better system than most cloud camera systems that will joyfully hand over your videos to the police without a warrant or store it in some S3 bucket that doesn’t even have user level access controls.
I have almost no opinions on specific fonts. Except… I absolutely despise the $ and ¢ symbols in Apple’s San Francisco font. Since it’s the default font I have to look at it a lot.
It sounds to me like the author needs to look up “overwhelming” in the dictionary.
