Keep in mind even if you decline everything and use a special ROM, your SIM card is a tiny computer running Java (yes, I know) and your carrier can run arbitrary applets there with access to your modem and some RAM.
It has been shown multiple times that they can track locations this way, and some exploit chains have allowed them to use this to fetch other data from the phone.
I think you misunderstood what I mean by getting hot. I don’t mean you’ll feel the device itself getting hot and therefore be bothered. I mean the internal chip that handles charging gets so hot it can fry itself and harm it’s own longevity.
It’s just Tumblr being Tumblr: they knew exactly what they were doing, they knew the philosophical concepts already, but the posts must be phrased as some whimsical discovery mixed with internet humor and spontaneity otherwise they do not get reblogged.
That’s always the Tumblr structure and tone. You can’t post an explanation or reference or author, you need to make it sound like some shower thought.
The translucent plastic models crack, specially at the hinges. The buttons poke through the thin rubber membrane and damage the domes below, irreversibly (the new models changed the design of the post to perhaps alleviate the issue, but it’s too soon to tell). The charging IC gets unreasonably hot, and while the cases where it fully damaged the unit are not abundant, it’s really shocking how hot it gets and I doubt it will last long.
A free game is a free game
If that’s all that matters, what’s different between downloading the free game Epic affords you versus simply browsing FitGirl and downloading any game for free?
Not really, the Vitas are actually quite bad for emulation. They do have the advantage of natively running PSP and Vita games, which are possible to emulate but not ideal on these SBC handhelds.
But as far as everything else goes, the Vita’s CPU is surprisingly underclocked and the GPU drivers for homebrew are quite undercooked. A simple RetroArch shader that a $50 handhelds handles just fine is enough to overwhelm the Vita, and don’t expect to emulate anything more complex than the PS1 with good performance.
This might be a big suprise, but if you want a “first party” handheld to emulate you want a New 3DS, not the Vita. The New 3DS will natively run 3DS, DS and GBA games, and emulate the PS1 better than a Vita. Though again, it won’t handle the shaders and advancements that even a cheap chinese handheld can handle nowadays.
I really wanted to like this given how many issues my RG35XX SP is having, and I love the GBA SP style, but I simply can’t stand those analogue sticks unfortunately.
A free game on Epic is too expensive as far as I’m concerned.
The source for the information in this article is a translated interview with a representative from Anatel, our local brazilian telecommunications regulator. Being brazilian, I can confidently say this means absolutely nothing, you can safely ignore this article, and the representative himself probably does not understand half of the words he used.
It’s hard to even mention an entity as completely inadequate at their own job than Anatel.
If we are so extremely focused on making sure money gets used, could we first deal with the people hoarding most of it?

They did try loot and difficulty changes that are closer to Diablo II in style. Players moaned endlessly until they gave up.
