Not very good for organizing more than a few feeds
Not very good for organizing more than a few feeds
I think the most likely culprits would be the publishers who have been going after them, or the intelligence firms which are annoyed with archive showing up in their surveillance graphs and being one of the most accessible forms of news media piracy. I don’t feel like I have the full picture.
Why did they advertise that leak and cybersec advertising service Have I Been Pwned in the breach? Why did they hack a site where I literally just store websites? Why did they claim it was for Palestine? Seems like stupid fed shit to me. Also funnily enough I didn’t even really need to change my password since I only had a few website saves and used a burner email
It absolutely rules for all kinds of info you don’t want laying around loose on a device. The sync issues others have mentioned are just a result of it giving you more control over file management. I don’t even sync I just use an SD card
143, you are blocked for inane questioning.
I’m a vague motherfucker and sometimes I just get the feeling if I try to explain my three-quarters baked understanding of how intelligence works in academia and the tech or culture industry in an overtly benign way, I’m going to be tedious due to my lack of expert knowledge ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ like I should learn more first, to avoid being tedious
I said it was about fostering dependence on the cybersecurity community. To what end, I do not kniw. But getting people to cloudflare their sites is great for surveillance. Cybersecurity outlets are intensely political and pro west.
No I think it’s about “context creation” as they call it. Like a protetection racket where payment is made in dependence on certain tools, that is intended to be used later. Good way to popularize leaks themselves
That just smells like an actual false flag operation to me.
It’s not uncommon for hackers to sell cures for problems they cause. This includes law enforcement, which can have broader goals like promoting their own cybersecurity outfits, even just promoting deoendency on HIBP if it’s a fed thing would be useful here, making the joke they left on the page telling people to check out the site itself suspect. The internet archive is a large and beloved outlet for piracy and depaywalling, maybe the security enhancements being billed to them could help the industry bring them to heel a bit. Just speculating.
I have to say that the way they are advertising “HAVE I BEEN PWNED” makes this look like law enforcement selling cures to problems they create. The owner has that CIA front company type CV. It makes my head shudder uncontrollably. 🐙🌕🤕
Did you find an answer to this?
Very cool article but mainly because I was bracing for more nonsense about how stripped down apps can help “dopamine fasting” - which like paranoia about antivirus or mugging level threats has completely overtaken many otherwise terrific projects and leads people to do insane things like destroy searching public posts on one’s own website to provide people a security blanket
Instead this gets to one of the core problems with open source. Let’s dig even deeper. Most open source contributors are depressed knowing they serve an industry dominated by imperialists who care nothing for them and will actively warp communities into digital company towns, instigate new forms of bullying and low grade civil conflict, and open source development is basically a coping mechanism that can sometimes serve as a justification to stay in the industry
Cool but probably not as sexy as KISS will try it anyways
What the hell kind of a question even is that

I want to be able to drag around folders into other folders and select multiple feeds at once. Fluent has one of the best ways of displaying a completed feed. I still use CommaFeed to organize my feeds and edit the OPML document from it in a text editor because the organization of the nested folders is still crap.
I want to, for instance, select one folder to export it as an OPML file
