Most Usenet providers offer secure connections so I don’t know if it’s necessary, but I use a VPN.

I agree, migrating the apes is key. It’s tough to point them in the right direction with all the brigading rules. Are you aware of any other communities popping up outside of Reddit? I like the idea of decentralization but it definitely makes it harder to find all the communities.
