It’s been interesting that’s for sure but we’re doing our best :)
admin here for lemmynsfw, it’s been annoying as hell having to weed thru the spam reports. we had to make a pinned announcement posting saying if people keep reporting content creators who post their links in the majority of communities that are fine with it, we are going to have to start taking action. it’s just ridiculous.
Admin for lemmynsfw here, you are mixing things up a bit. vlemmy (an instance that mysteriously disappeared recently after defederating from a instance thats hosts lolicon) was the Irish one. lemmynsfw.com has changed policy’s recently to make a healthier community, maintain federation with other instances, and generally figure things out for the better with lemmys limited software.
Either way, you can browse pornlemmy communities and lemmynsfw communities between each other since we federate with each other. All that matters is that right now those seem to be the only current NSFW instances attempting to operate responsibly and legally, to my present knowledge at least.
If spam crossposting becomes an issue, we will address it. The reports we are referring to here are mainly against people who are daring to just post links in the body or comments to their OF. It’s not mass crossposting.
I think it’s fair for people to be upset when there’s spam on the site. But, we’ve so far had issues with only actual spam but not really any true spam from OF models. It seems so far that content creators have been extra careful on that end. Like, as long as the links are in the body or comments in most communities it is more than fine and thats generally whats been going on currently as far I can see. Sex workers need to make money too and getting instant mass reports on OF models for daring to want to make money off their content they are graciously providing to us for free as a community is downright absurd and deeply annoying to have to sift thru. I can get outright exhibitionist communities, but those need to be clear about such imo.
Honestly whether people want to admit it or not, we need content creators for this community to thrive and grow. If it becomes any issue in the future then a conversation will be had, but there really isn’t any issue at the moment.
Right now it’s not really possible. I assume it will be a feature in the future, but for it’s not a thing on lemmy. There is RSS links I believe on user pages but they seem to be finnicky.
Unfortunately it is only instance wide at the moment.
American law is honestly just deeply convoluted and annoying. Having to take into account the 50 mini countries in a trench coat hyper-specific legalities is so fun!
Yay! Some cool new features it seems
