  • It’s kind of hard to say with 750,000 people now homeless. 65% people living paycheck to paycheck. 53% of people either under or uninsured. The elderly being priced out of their homes and becoming the fasting growing segment of the unhoused. Where the 1% possess 95% of all the world’s wealth. Credit card debt is through the roof and auto repossessions are right behind it.

  • Pressure public opinion? This implies that politicians and government gives a flying fuck what we think. When one billionaire has more political influence than millions of voters they don’t care what we think. It’s not like this is new news that nobody has heard of before. We’ve known this for decades, and nothing has changed. Even if they were taxed accordingly that money would not be reallocated to helping the working class.

Taxing the rich to save society is based on the assumption that taxation is required for the government to spend. The government can create money on a whim when they want it.

  • I was aware of it and aware of its contents way before it started getting talked about on social media. It has existed for decades under various names, and it’s policies have often been bipartisan when they come for a vote. NAFTA was never presented as killing our jobs, shopping them overseas to increase profits. It was sold to us as the greatest thing ever to make the country stronger.

Like NAFTA and other proposals by the Heritage Foundation they are always presented by a republican to get public opposition out of the way. So when it’s resented again by a Democrat it’s embraced as progress.
