Leaving them alone is the only real answer
You’re absolutely right about financialised services being more valuable than straight product sales, and this is exactly why so many companies in distribution channels are laser-focused on becoming a monthly subscription service.
A lot of it is cope twisting itself into an aspect of one’s personality, essentially justifying your lack of options as a preference or Malthusian ideology. The mind twists it from “it is impossible to have a baby and I am required to be okay with this” into either “I HATE BABIES AND WANT THEM THROWN INTO THE SUN” or “you are a loser and a bad person for having a baby.”
The takes that antinatalists have are very similar to the takes that schoolkids have about which game console is better for a reason. The capitalist system won’t allow you to come to grips with it as a deliberate failure of a system which must be overthrown violently, it is only allowed to be a consumptive preference.
Through lasers, anything is possible.
we’ll all be on catamarans and we’ll have to shoot guys on jet skis. no, wait that’s water world.
You’re right, your friend is just a liberal in need of education on what the Romanovs were actually like.
I bike everywhere on a step-thru bike and older people love to walk up and talk with me about it. I’ve just come to accept it and advocate for more people to take a bike ride instead of a drive and I have seen more older people on step-thru bikes in my town than when I first moved here so I hope I’ve encouraged people to try riding again even if it’s just casually.

Libel also generally has to be targeted at a specific named person or registered group like a corporation.
Analysis: capitalism cannot help but beat a dead horse. Whenever anything becomes slightly popular, it must be mined and hollowed out in the search for every cent of profit.
.hack and SAO made this genre become impossible not to core out, and unfortunately weebs will watch anything so the hollowed out husk of the genre is still bleeding money 20 years later.
I agree, there’s a huge problem with social media driving competitive urges in people. There’s this constant urge towards one-upmanship built into the platforms.
Curating constructive communities is a tough process that takes ongoing care and energy on the part of everyone involved.
not really steam’s fault, it’s windows’ fault for encouraging the extra large icon tiles and then deciding to stop upscaling regular icons
You could go to 64x64 or 128x128, and it’s just going to be a larger but equally pixelated version of it. Think like pixel art. At least they won’t be weird and tiny (or at least, they’ll also be unnecessarily large like the other icon tiles)
There is no way to make it look like one of those tile style icons, you can’t simply gain detail or resolution that never existed, you can only make the pixels chunkier or you can make it blurrier. AI will also not be of any help here as the image sizes are too small.
There is no required standard resolution for a launcher icon, so the reason they’re so small is the developers just never made one larger than that. Windows used to just scale all icons to the same size, but that was changed for some reason at some point.
What you could do is manually edit the icons in gimp or krita and resize the icon to the same size as the other icons. Linear resize will make them bigger but a bit pixelated, but the other options will almost certainly just smudge the icons to hell and back because there are far too few pixels to work with.
Ignoring it will always make the problem worse and more expensive. Unless you’re going to be a complete putz in court, the worst possible outcome is that you wasted perhaps an hour of your time and still have to pay the ticket that you already had to pay anyway. This is the only way to get out of a ticket or reduce the cost.
There are no court costs. Points are set by statute, a judge cannot give you points off your license because they’re having a bad day. You may wish to pursue free legal assistance to clarify the laws in your area before disputing the ticket.
Just don’t try violence or threaten or curse at the judge or the pig and the worst that will happen is that you don’t get the ticket reduced or dismissed. There is no consequence for disputing the ticket.
If you cannot afford to pay the ticket by the deadline, you must show up in court to dispute it.
If the cop shows up beforehand, they may try to talk to you and try to screw you into admitting guilt. DO NOT TALK TO THE COP!!!
Congrats!
