Progressives aren’t asking the Dems to commit to even trying to stop the genocide. Progressives are asking Dems to stop actively facilitating and arguably participating in it.

Making genocidal statements isn’t the same thing as committing a genocide, ya dingus.
No arguments from me. I wonder how long Biden’s ego has been an impediment to Dems. Definitely for the past month but I suspect it’s been a lot longer.
Yeah, sticking with the guy who is losing in all the polls and can’t speak would have been a much better option.
Why don’t you whip out the ol DSM and read about antisocial personality disorder? Call it psychopathy, or sociopathy, or APD. A rose by any other name.
If your takeaway from that article is “the debate didn’t hurt Biden”, the article entitled “Biden suffers less polling damage than expected…”, then I have some doubts about your ability to recognize your own bias.
Frankly I see a LOT more of that misunderstanding from people who think shaming others into voting blue is an effective strategy than I do from people who express that they want to vote third party.
I’m not trying to be argumentative here lol. I don’t fundamentally disagree with you, and I think that some people, especially in the most recent few elections, have decided that the only options they find acceptable are to vote 3rd party or simply not vote at all. I hope we agree that a 3rd party presidential vote, in a solid blue state, ideally with blue down-ballot votes, is better than nothing. I’m just pointing out that some people can weigh that decision a lot less heavily than others.
If you’re a New Yorker, then your 3rd party vote in 2000 did not result in, or contribute to, Bush “winning”. All NY electoral votes went to Gore. Personally I think that if you live in a solid blue state, then you have the luxury of being able to vote your conscience.
“Do what we ask and we’ll stop murdering your children” is the exact logic that led to the invention of war crimes.
Carlin was vulgar, but he never punched down. I firmly believe his comedy would be as accepted today as it was when he made it.
You don’t think that realizing he was pissing off his base, during an election year, has any impact on his choices?
It’s super weird to assume that criticizing a politician automatically means someone supports the opposition candidate.
Seems like Biden should listen to his constituents if he wants to win re-election.
Seems like a waste of time lol. Shaming people has never been a good way to get their vote, if anything it just alienates them further.
I love how you view the idea of Democrats actually changing direction based on the views of their constituents (you know, the entire basis of democracy) as such an impossible idea, and the idea that Biden will not change direction on Israel as such a foregone conclusion.
The election is eight months away, Biden has plenty of time to grow a spine and stand up to Netanyahu. This might not salvage all the votes he has lost, but I think it will salvage enough. Rather than browbeating people on the internet about how they should vote for Biden regardless, maybe start pressuring Dems to take action to ensure that Republicans don’t take the presidency.
I’m not moving any goalposts. Your entire argument assumes that the US is providing military aid to China, knowing that said aid is used to commit genocide. They aren’t.
Your use of the term “Hamas Muslims,” however, is very telling.
