Taxing the rich does nothing until you can fix the government. Fix the government first, and you can fix the rest. The government is the rich, they aren’t going to do anything that would impact themselves. Some of them talk a good game, but if push comes to shove, they aren’t going to raise taxes on themselves.
“Fix the government”? The government already knows how to spend money. They spend hundreds of billions of dollars every year on things that benefit everyday Americans. Okay, so there’s corruption. There’s corruption in literally every government on Earth. The answer is to start taxing the rich more.
Great, and when that money disappears into contracts for their friends and donors, which do nothing for everyday people, then what? The rich got punished (yay!), and it did nothing for anyone else. Sounds pointless.
It takes money away from the rich. If the government puts that money into a big hole at first, that is fine by me. The decrease in wealth inequality in our society will be helpful on it’s own. Every little bit helps, once we get better control of the government we can take those taxes and point them at something useful.
So we can tax the rich for the money right? And where does that money go? Oh ya, to the government, who does whatever they want with it, making themselves, their friends, and donors, richer. That’ll definitely help us /s
You’re just kind of making yourself look silly here. You know there’s an annual budget thing that happens every year right? POTUS doesn’t just get to sit on trillions of dollars la la la.
You’re right, it doesn’t go directly to them, but strangely enough, most federal level politicians get richer while in office.
Actually, you know what? Stay ignorant, and keep voting in the people who are looking to make themselves richer. It’s worked so far, so why do anything different, right? I’m sure they’ll get around to taxing the rich… someday. /S

The government aren’t the rich. The rich buy and use government like pawns.
So all the millionaires in Congress aren’t rich? Damn.
Not enough to be pulling the strings. The difference between a millionaire and a Billionaire is about a billion dollars.
Tax them. The US Treasury and the Fed isn’t the piggy bank of politicians the way you seem to think it is.
So they don’t give out billions to friends and donors, who then give them money to influence them?

If only we had some way to find the funds we need to overhaul the government… oh well. Guess we’ll just die or something.

Says the guy championing tax cuts for the elite.
Have you heard of irony?
I’m not championing tax cuts for the elite, they should be taxed, I just think we need to fix the government first, or the taxes will be pointless.
And I disagree on that point. I don’t think disagreeing means one of us has to be ignorant. You disagree with that point.
