Gonna catch some heat with this but I feel like this is just future e-waste. I think it’s better to take advantage of old but good hardware to run stuff, like hacked Vitas or 3DSes. Even switches should be usable for retro stuff down the line.
3DS doesnt have portmaster or moonlight which is pretty cool about these devices. But yeah i do understand the ewaste sentiment especially since the people who buy these (me) have multiple devices that run the same games
Miyoo also doesn’t have portmaster. Not sure about Moonlight.
The most “future-proof” sort of SBC game device would probably be an Android based one like the Odin, since Android software at least pretends to be consistent.
I have vita and n3ds (both modded) and they have been collecting dust since I got the rg35xx-h. The form factor and most importantly portmaster makes it way better in my opinion.
