I don’t know how often this happens to average awkward/uncool people. We had someone who was treated somewhat like this at my high school. He stunk to high heaven and had an issue with respecting personal space. The combo was enough to make him someone you did your best to avoid. I know some people tried to explain why, but he kind of just brushed it off.
