Banned me for speaking about ‘Other Subs’ even though Lemmy isn’t even part of Reddit! XD

Looks like I’m here for a while! Better get myself comfy!

Because if you mod a sub like that, you can make decent money controlling the narrative to support your own positions.

I don’t know why so many impressionable people never understood that, or expect any other meme stock community to not eventually do the same.

You said the forbidden word. I wouldn’t be surprised if Red dit implemented a sitewide ban on “Lemmy” “threadiverse” etc

I just find it funny how the mods of a community with almost 900 thousand members are so threatened by the mere mention of a different online community with merely a few hundred members. what are they so afraid of?

so insecure and controlling, don’t even THINK about going somewhere that isn’t within their control. but the ironic thing is that the more that they abuse what little power they have in this world, the more apparent that corruption becomes to everyone, which will only accelerate the motivation for people to search elsewhere for discussions.

It’s funny, because I’ve mentioned lemmy many times on SS and other subs leading up to the rexxodus … and I haven’t been banned. It seems completely arbitrary. Maybe they’re specifically afraid of the lemmy.whynotdrs.org instance.

We need to spread the word about this DRSyourGME community on whynotdrs lemmy instance.

Once we are back to where was r/DRSyourGME before getting banned, we will be unstoppable

    Oof, what a reaction.

Power doesn’t panic. But they’re panicking for real.

Genuinely gross. They could have built their own community here and acted as leaders, instead they’re tightening their grip on a weak power trip.

Yea but if it is a rule violation then rules are rules. More important is how do we spread the word about this place.

Thing is, I didn’t break the rule. it explicitly states other subs. Lemmy is not Reddit, there is no brigading or mention of another subreddit in my comment.

Would there be a difference between my comment, and perhaps, a comment about a Twitter thread or hashtag? hmm…

Fair point but I don’t think there’s any point dealing with dickheads. And no matter what good reason we provide, they’re never gonna let us advertise for this instance on superstank.

Just want to figure out the best way to get the existence of this group across to the others. I only found out it existed because I added the discord to make sure I could remain in contact with millertime who I suspect they were unfairly targeting. And then someone luckily directed me here. It was a tenuous and lucky path to be here which reflects why we only have 100 subs.

I might need to individually start messaging people on reddit. Should we do this as a drive? We each msg 10people on reddit?

          Open to ideas.

Twitter posts are allowed. Why not any mention of Lemmy?

Maybe we need to tweet about Lemmy?

Yeah, that was my reply to the mods. I had only mentioned an outside entity, no different than the countless twitter, linkedin, gmedd, and drsgme.org posts or comments that encourage outside conversation of GME. The rules ‘as stated’ only apply to other subreddits.

Will post an update when I get a response

👍 surprised I haven’t been banned yet. Another user and I discovered a month or so ago that banned things on SS can be applied to flair, the message is still deleted like normal but the flair still applies 🤣🤣🤣 I use to have 🟣 DRSyourGME 📚

I saw that too! Totally transparent… btw, we also have a dedicated [email protected] community exactly for transparency like this!

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using an URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: [email protected]

Hahaha, so dumb. I was permabanned last week for insulting spez. Official reason was for harassment lol. No warning or anything.
