The statement criticised what it called Beijing’s “provocative” behaviour in the South and East China Seas, joint military exercises with Russia and the rapid expansion of its nuclear weapons arsenal.

Pretty easy to read between the lines on this one. Neither side needs to mention Taiwan in order to know what this is really about.

I meant by funding. Raw people power does not matter as much in modern warfare.

Have you heard of the military bases that the US has all around the world? Obviously not.

I have not only heard I have seen them. Chinese have the largest military by man power and the largest navy by number of ships in the world.

You keep trying to dance around the issue of how much the US projects their power across the entire world. Imagine if the headline was “China upgrades military command in Cuba, warns of US threats”.

Note the fact that US never grant TW statehood nor independence. Taiwan is the only pitiful political entity in first island chain that has no US military base, the cost of which TW will be happily to pay.

TW has been buying US weaponry since after WWII. But most purchases undelivered, very much delayed, or in the form of delivering outdated weapons.
