You’re looking at it from the wrong angle.
He wants a tough sentence with jail time.
- As a technically “first offender” they can argue that it shows obvious bias and get a favourable appeal result.
- It plays to Putin and other autocrat propaganda. “See how the US actually is, we have the same democracy here” sort of thing.
- Most importantly, it plays to his cult and to his ego, he gets to stoke dangerous things which very nearly almost worked last time (only thanks to Pence and the few cops who stood up to the mob.) and he gets a ton of attention from his cult for it.
It doesn’t matter what he is ok with, he will do whatever the judge decides.
Because it would help his martyrdom and his image as a victim, further “justifying” calls for violence and helping divide and disrupt our society to an even greater extent.

If Dems embraced progress, Republicans would run someone more moderate in an attempt to steal moderate voters. I don’t think we’d lose as much as we do now, but even if we did the worst would be someone closer to Biden than trump. And with wins meaning something again, participation goes up. Which is why Dems would win more.

The fun part is he doesn’t need to be okay with the punishments the court deems necessary. In fact, it’s better if he doesn’t like the outcome as it will dissuade him, possibly, from doing the same thing again. He got away with being a shitty commercial property developer because he never faced and repercussions. So he just kept doing it until he ruined his reputation with every contractor in the city.

Ok, sure. He lists his properties as private residences so give him the choice to travel between any of his properties but while under house arrest visitors must me excluded and go by the same rules as any other person visitor of granted access.
He’ll get house arrest but he’ll lose all his businesses.
